Status Quo? What is meant by 'Status quo'? What does it mean when said "Kay's ideas seemed status quo in comparison"
Status quo? Why does the Obama campaign, says that Obama is for change and don't want to be part of the status quo, when he has been endorse by the oldest status qou's in the country; Senator Kennedy and Senator Kerry? So please give a break!.
What is the Status Quo Obama is Getting Rid Of? Please be specific. Change Washington... Inspire People... Or Unite the USA is not only not specific and is the same hyperbole everyone is confused by, but many of US think that's BS, and we don't buy it. Sp please enlighten US as to why we should trust Obama and what he plans to change about the Status Quo. So what specifically is Obama going to change about the status quo? What did he change in Illinois? Why has he changed so far in the US Senate?
Where can a get an autographed photo of Status Quo? I want to get a autographed photo of Status Quo for my Dad's 50th birthday as they are his favourite band. I have until the end of August to find one, not really sure where to look or who to contact. Any advice would be great.
Why do dems like the status quo with social security even though it will bankrupt us? Bush tried to allow people to invest a small portion of their social security in low risk bonds/stocks and the dems went nuts. Boehner wants to raise the age for social security to 70 because people are living longer and there isnt' enough money. Why then do dems want to do NOTHING about social security and just let it take us to the bottom? Why are dems the party of NO and the status quo?
Why are women obsessed with marital status quo? What is it that women find so important about the marital status quo? As far as I can see, the only thing men ever cared about was whether or not they are (and will be) happy with the woman they chose to marry. It is ridiculous to sacrifice happiness for something called the "status quo", especially if there are no children involved!
What is the Status Quo of global warming? 1.What is the status quo of my issue? (a) What is it? (b) How long has it been going on? 5. What is my problem with the status quo? (a) What's wrong with the status quo? (b) Who or what is to blame? (c) Who is affected by the problem? (d) Who cares? Why does this even matter? (e) What will happen if it isn't fixed? I really don't know how to answer a lot of these, if you could just give me some information that would kind of help me fill this in, I would appreciate it! Thanks!
What does defend the status quo mean? This is something that my argument and reasoning class keeps saying but I have a learning disability and it's hard for me to understand certain things. Can you give me an example please if you know what "defend the status quo" means?
Is the status quo of big government really worth conserving? Conservatives, by definition, are in favor of preserving the status quo and preventing any change, either "progressive" or "reactionary." The libertarian values upon which America was founded are long gone, as is the limited government of the Founders which actually followed its own Constitution. Isn't it inaccurate for those who believe in the founding values of the United States to be called conservative since those values no longer exist? Wouldn't it be more accurate to describe the supposedly "progressive" proponents of big government interventionist policies as the conservatives in the modern sense since they are basically interested in preserving the status quo even though they pretend to represent "change?"
Do you think the Health Care bill is better or worse than the status quo? I think this is a hard call. I think the health care system is in desperate need of reform, to control costs and health care inflation, and also to cover people with no insurance. But I'm skeptical that the current bill pending in Congress will actually achieve this. I'm not sure if it will be better or worse than the status quo. What is your opinion and please include what parts of the bill you like and don't like.
What is the status quo in the Taiwan Strait? Many countries in the world today (especially the USA) say that they support the maintenance of the status quo in the Taiwan Strait. But, what is the "status quo" in the Taiwan Strait? How can we define it, or delineate it? In other words, what is the status of the geographical entities of Taiwan and Mainland China, as well as the governmental entities of the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China, and how can we correctly describe their interrelationship? Moreover, does the USA fit in the picture anywhere?
What's so wrong with challenging the status quo? I saw Arne Duncan, Obama's new Secretary of Education, on Charlie Rose last night. More than one time I heard him say "We're going to challenge the status quo" I hear all the Republican rants about Obama and socialism. I think Repubs are just using an emotionally charged word to oppose Obama and I think they are wrong about socialilsm. What I definitely see from Obama is radicalism---extreme change. I think its change for the better.
Does this thesis of status quo make sense? I believe that Americans have a difficult time accepting the ideas and views of divergent cultures because Americans abide by the status quo, which limits their judgment on unfamiliar views and cultures. This is for an argumentative essay and i'm not sure about the status quo in a sentence. The original question for the essay is "Do Americans have a diffucult time accepting the ideas and views of divergent culture?" Agree or Disagree. Thanks.
Do Americans hate Micheal Moore so much because they hate anyone questioning the status quo? I am not a big Micheal More fan. Bowling for Columbine was pretty good I thought but with Fahrenheit 9/11 he lost a lot of credibility. Still, there's no reason to hate someone for questioning authority and the status quo even if they're sometimes wrong is there? Why do Americans hate anyone or thing that calls into question how Americans currently / traditionally does things?
Why Does Hillary Insist on Bringing Campaigning Back to 'Status Quo; in an Elevated Environment? Hillary cannot recognize or evolve her politics to the new realization that Americans are 'burnt out' on the negativity & status quo of the Washington spin/gridlock machine. Is she destined, if elected to give us '4 more' of the same old 'dynastic' politics of the Clinton/Bush era that have brought us to these troubles? Her politics as 'old' are NOT going to serve us well in the future.
How does the status quo change so quickly school to school? Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School, High School and College. For the best or for the worst. I can understand kindergarten to elementary but.. For example, in elementary having a large collection of games would probably make you "cool" to a good number of kids, even in fifth grade. In middle school that would have the opposite effect. Or in middle school to high school... I can't think of anything but.. I would say because of the other people in the school, but the first year students have a different quo then the other ones.
How is Obama not the "status quo"? And IF he is such drastic change - how will he get ALL the status quo politicians to vote with him? (What proof besides him saying "I am not the status quo") Talking about change? Talk is cheap. Politicians have been saying we'll reduce oil dependency for years. Politicians have been saying we'll give straight talk for years. Politicians have been saying we'll improve health care for years. Sounds like you just find Obama's words more believable. I don't see how that's change.
Looking for quote about society and status quo? It was something along the lines of, "society praises those who are alive and defend the status quo, and praises those who are dead that criticized the status quo". That's a really bad wording of it, but does anyone know the quote I'm talking about?
I need to write a speech calling for legislative solution to some prob in status quo. ideas? I have to write a speech (called an Original Advocacy), but I'm stumped for ideas. These speeches call for legislative solutions to problems that exist in the status quo. Basically, I have to propose that the govt enact some series of laws to solve some problem that they (the gov't) has not addressed yet. I'm stuck for ideas of which problem to write on. I need a problem that is really a problem (big, with lots of bad stuff happening), but not something totally cliche (drunk driving, capital punishment, etc) to work with. Any suggestions... pleeeease?
What does status quo alone mean? My mom and I have been fighting for quite sometime now. Luckily, I live with my dad and not her. I haven't seen her since before Thanksgiving. Today, she sent me an email and said status quo alone. What does that mean?
Who's ready to remove the status quo and create a better society? It's time to fix things, is it not? Should the burden continue to be passed on to generation after generation growing with every turn, or should we put a stop to this and improve not only our own futures but those of everyone to come after us? The future is not made tomorrow, it is cast today.
Why are people so afraid to break the status quo? Voting for the "chosen" democratic or republican candidate even when you don't agree with their politics happens every 4 years. "Choosing the lesser evil" is a common term. Why don't people refuse to vote for either candidate and vote for an independent?
What's more important, believing in the truth or following the status quo? I've always wondered this. Think about the Matrix, Neo could have lived in a happy, normal (yet controlled) life or in a crappy (but real) planet with no atmosphere being exterminated by giant robots. That's an example, dude. To get you thinking. If you don't want to answer then please don't answer.
How many would rather have a 'virgin' in a position than the old status quo? I've had a few jobs, and I've seen that if you ask people about new ideas, the ones who are 'green' are the ones who have the fresh ideas. The veterans are the ones who seem to blend in, stand down, and accept whatever has come there way. I've gotten in trouble a few times for that, but in time people realize change is better than unaware and unwilling to address issues. Just my take, comment at will:
Why do Americans love to complain about government, but continue to vote for the status quo? Lots of anger over Wall St bailouts, congress ignored citizens, congress gets rewarded by voters. Lots of anger over deficits, power of fed government, but voters won't do squat about it in 2010. Why do voters SAY they want change and action but continue to keep seding the same two parties back to power? Are Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Murtha, Dodd, Burris, Harmon, etc really better than Hastert, Frist, Foley, Delay, Craig, Cunningham, etc?
Is the status quo the solution to the illegal immigration problem? While people in power usually endorse it. The ordinary people will bring about the change. What triggered the marches in May? anti immgrants!Who marched? Illegal aliens! I think social justice will prevail even though the cost will be there just like it's happened in previous struggles. The French Revolution(It marked the end of monarchies as systems of govt)! Women's right to vote!Desegration!
Would you pay higher taxes to improve the status quo? Fundamentally, isn't that the core of this election? Higher taxes and more government intervention in exchange for more health coverage, better education, etc. Would you be willing to pay more for change? Also note that the next president, whether democrat or republican will have to raise taxes eventually to pay for the war in Iraq and eliminate the budget deficit.
