What is meant by 'Status quo'? What does it mean when said "Kay's ideas seemed status quo in comparison"

1. Status quo is a Latin term meaning the present, existing state of affairs. To maintain the status quo is to keep the things the way they currently are. The related phrase status quo ante, means "the state of things as it was before."
2. Basically it means that it doesn't represent progress or an advance. "Standing as it is". And now "quid pro quo" please, gimme those 10 points
3. Status Quo- no change; as [it] used to be.
